Present Military Technique ,a Disastrous Illusion
Speech by Dr. Albert Einstien, delivered in princeton,New jersy, for broadcast on NBC Television program, 19,1950. '' The idea of achieving security through national armament is,at the present state of military technique , a disastrous illusion. On the part of the United States this illusion has been particularly fostered by the fact that this country succeeded first in producing an atomic bomb. The belief seemed to prevail that in the end it were possible to achieve decisive military supiority. In this way, any potential opponent would be intimidated. The maxim, which we have been following during these last five years, has been, in short: security through superior military power, whatever the cost. This mechanistic , technical-military psychological attitude had inevitable consequences. Is there any way out of this impasse created by man himself ? All of us , and particularly those who are responsible for the attitude of the U.S and the U.S.S.R., should realize thit we may have vanquished ab external enemy , but have been incapable of getting rid of the mentality created by the war.''

My Greatest Olympic Prize
Jesse Owens is a great short-distance runner and an Olympic champion. Here he tells of a personal exprience at the 1936 Olympic Games held in Berlin.About that time Hitler was preaching his theory of ' master race'. Owens had trained a lot and focused on the long jump. When the time came for the long jump he surprised to see a tall boy hitting the pit almost twenty six feet on his practice leaps. He was German named LuzLong.Owens hated this boy, and made mistakes. He kicked disgustedly at the ground. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was LuzLong he introduced himself. He asked about the trouble in Owens' mind and gave some instructions. He suggested drawing a line few inches behind the board and aim at making his take off from there. Owens qualified the practice. They spent the night talking. In the next day Luz broke his tecord. When Owens set the Olympic record Luz congratulated his sincerly. This incidence tells us that all Germans didn't believe in theory of Hitler.Owen quote the words of Pierre de Coubertin that ''the important thing in the Olympic games is not winning but taking part. The essencial thing in life is not conquering but fighting well
